Irene Forte's Travel Essentials
As Wellness Director of the Rocco Forte Hotels and founder of her own skincare line, Irene Forte spends a lot of her time jet-setting around the globe, so it's fair to say she has established a well-oiled travel routine. Whether it's long-haul or a quick business trip, Irene's in-flight essentials are a must.
Tumi Suitcase
I travel everywhere with my Tumi hand luggage. I generally travel with it as carry on, but it's expandable so even works when I have more luggage and need to check it in.
The Daily Edited Backpack
The Daily Edited (TDE) monogrammed black back-pack; this is perfect for carrying my laptop, papers, etc.
Lugol's Iodine Tincture 15%
I bring this on the plane and add 4 drops in my Chilly’s water bottle and drink it on the plane. It counteracts against air-conditioning germs, supporting immunity.
Skincare Products
I have sachets for almost all of my Irene Forte Skincare products, so I generally travel with a huge selection of these so as not to miss any step in my skincare regime. As someone who travels a lot, I’ve learnt that hydration is the key to avoiding the tell-tale signs of travel. I like to layer products to ensure minimal moisture loss and maximum nourishment.
Almond Cleansing Milk Sachets: Cleansing properly is a complete game changer and it is also the first step in a skincare routine. The Cleansing Milk is a gentle, and enriched with Almond, Jojoba and Rose oils, as well as Aloe Leaf Juice, to help nourish and hydrate the skin, whilst removing impurities.
Helichrysum Hyaluronic Toner (diluted into a 50ml bottle with a spray top): A Toner is super important because it removes the calk (calcium and minerals) that is found in tap water when we wash our face, and it balances the pH of our skin. I spray it over my face and then pitter-patter all over my face with my fingertips to boost circulation.
Hibiscus Serum Sachets: I will never miss the serum step! Face serums are super concentrated, lightweight moisturisers with small molecules that penetrate deep into the skin, delivering key active ingredients. Multi-molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid delivers superior hydration, while a synergistic Ceramide Complex helps nourish the skin’s natural moisture barrier to plump and smooth from within.
Pistachio Face Mask: I use this on the plane, and will do an extra one, one evening. It’s enriched with Pistachio, Avocado and Pumpkin oils to help hydrate, refresh and plump the skin.
Black Label Activewear
I need this to be active. Black Label uses a revolutionary Egyptian Mercerized Cotton that contains only 20% Elastane. Unlike any other sports clothing, there are no acrylic (petrol) based materials in the garments. Their materials are truly nourishing and feel amazing on the skin.
Make-up
I'm not very into make-up, but I cannot travel anywhere without Elta MD Skin UV Daily Facial Sunscreen SPF 40. It's an SPF and a tinted moisturiser, with good active ingredients in it.
Tangle Teaser
I have long hair so definitely cannot travel without it.
A Good Book
This is a must. My favourite reads on trips over the last few months have included: Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, Red Notice by Bill Browder, The Gut by Giulia Enders and Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker.
